Embracing the Nerves Before Your Photo Shoot..
A photo shoot is an amazing experience, but it's not uncommon to feel a little nervous about facing the camera.
Whether you're someone stepping in front of the lens for the first time, or have a few sessions under your belt, pre-shoot jitters are natural.
In this blog post,I will share some tips on how to turn those butterflies into beautiful moments.
It's important to recognise that feeling nervous is entirely normal. It often comes from wanting to present your best self and the fear of the unknown, of stepping out of your comfort zone.
Instead of viewing nerves as a hindrance, consider it as a natural part of the creative process.
Positive Self-Talk: Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations.
Remind yourself of your strengths, unique qualities, and the reasons you are doing the shoot. Affirmations can help shift your mindset from self-doubt to self-confidence, creating a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Connecting with Your Photographer: Establishing a connection with your photographer will make a huge difference.
We will always take a few moments to chat before the shoot, allowing both of us to get comfortable with each other. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere will make it easier for you to be yourself in front of the camera. During your session I will talk to you about how you’re feeling, and give you a few breathing exercises to help you to calm down.
Breathe and Relax Breathing exercises are excellent for calming nerves. Practice mindfulness by taking slow, deep breaths to centre yourself. This technique not only reduces anxiety but also enhances your presence during the shoot. Remember to pause, breathe, and enjoy the experience.
Celebrate the Process: Shift your focus from the final outcome to the process itself. Use this time to express yourself, to create art, and of course to have fun. By embracing the journey, you'll find that the nerves transform into excitement and creative energy. Most often the best photos are those taken when you finally relax, and be yourself, when you realise that no one is judging you.
Feeling nervous before a photo shoot is entirely normal.
But, remember, that I’m here to help you to relax and have fun.
So, take a deep breath, enjoy the process, and let your uniqueness shine through my lens.
Here’s what Toni had to say about her experience :
“I came to Angela, to have a photo shoot as I had seen the amazing images from friends shoots, and how much confidence they had gained from their experience. For me I wanted to feel that confidence, have a chance to unashamedly express my sexuality and feminine side. I don’t often get the chance to have my hair and make -up done, and that was all part of this amazing and exciting process. Angela was awesome at calming my nerves, after just a few clicks of the camera I got into it. She talked me through every step, every pose, and showed me the images on her camera. I have never felt so bloody good. I walked out of her home/studio feeling like Iwas a million bucks. I have full intentions of doing it again in the near future. After receiving my images, I am inspired to do more!
I feel like every woman deserves to feel, how I felt, with Angela behind the camera. And i urge you to give it a go, no regrets.”
